Missing SF Giants fan found alive, Authorities have pulled a 62-year-old woman from San Francisco Bay after she spent 13 hours in the water following a wind surfing mishap.
Coast Guard Lt. Jr. Grade Heather Lampert says Cathy Caton was found in the waters off Foster City around 6 a.m. Tuesday, a day after she was reported missing. She was in stable condition.Her husband, 63-year-old Steve Hamman, says she was cold but alert. She was taken to a Coast Guard station for evaluation.
The Los Altos resident went windsurfing around 5 p.m. Monday and was supposed to be gone for about a half hour. Hamman called authorities when she did not return, and by 7 p.m. a search effort was underway.
Hamman said his wife had experienced a problem with her gear. She was an experienced windsurfer and was wearing a wet suit.
